Bio

Dr. Datta has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level since 2007. She joined the faculty at Loyola University School of Nursing in the Fall of 2018 as an assistant professor and the Department of Biological Sciences in the Fall of 2021. She is a proficient scientist with training in cancer signaling, drug discovery and biomarker development. She has 12+ years of experience in breast cancer and 6+ years of experience in prostate cancer. She has taught bioinformatics to graduate students in the biomedical sciences program and also has also taught pharmacology and molecular biology to masters, PhD and first year medical students. She has written two book chapters, several book reviews and published in multiple journals and her work has been heavily cited. Dr. Datta believes that teaching is a work of heart, mind and spirit and considers it a wonderful gift of God. Dr. Datta is passionate about reading and writing fiction and loves spending time with her family.
